In January 2017, I was commissioned by the French publishing house Les Éditions Denoël to shoot a press portfolio for writer Michel Honaker.
I came to see Michel on “his ground”, at his house.
Michel's personality and the gloomy winter day in Île-de-France woods set the tone to our further collaboration.
I strongly believe that a person's portrait must grab attention, invoke questions, tell (or withhold) a story, reminiscent various cultural references. It should stop the viewer's eye and tell him or her
a tale.
While playing around, we also shot a short video sketch, where Michel repeatedly pronounces the name of his new book, as a teaser for its promotion.
